Original 10th Mountain Division ski equipment for WWII. The skis were painted white to act as camouflage during missions on snow covered terrain. After the war, most 10th Mountain Division soldiers were recruited to develop the U.S. National Ski Patrol. Skis like these were monumental in the successful missions against the Germans in the Italian mountains (see "Riva Ridge"). They are marked US 1943. Bindings say Dartmouth Ski Co. This is great pair of 10th Mountain skis.
